Description:
UICC and CRUK intend to announce the partnership they are forming to work in tobacco control. The keystone initiative of the partnership will be a joint multi-year programme in Kenya and Uganda, which will focus on strengthening coalitions of civil society and cancer organisations to advocate for tobacco control policies, particularly Article 6 of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. The session will highlight the aims of the programme and involve key stakeholders in the region who can speak to the necessity of tobacco control policy in these contexts.
